Grief changes us. It re-arranges how we understand the world and how we understand our place in it. We are living in a time where the collective and individual griefs we experience, around increasingly chaotic climate changes, often feel both urgent and heartbreaking. From the recent report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to species loss, climatic changes and harmful land use practices to rapid social upheaval, systemic racism, and the ongoing erosion of human rights; the scale of problems we face as a species is immense, and the issues are intertwined. It can be overwhelming to allow ourselves to process grief without being flooded by despair. But what if we allowed our emotions to re-connect us with what matters to us?  What if collectively acknowledging the loss and heartbreak of the effects of climate change helps us to find refuge together as we move through grief into love and action? Join us at this retreat to receive tools and resources that engender resiliency and care.

Finding Refuge: Earth Love and Climate Grief, is a two-day retreat, held in the beauty of Litchfield, CT at Wisdom House Retreat Center. Under the guidance of Jodi Lamimman, an eco-spiritual director, facilitator of the Work that Reconnects and founder of Refugia Retreats, and Justin Ferko a Certified Relational Natural Forest Therapy Guide (ANFT), professional chaplain and interspiritual counselor at Wild Spirit Paths. Jodi and Justin will draw from Relational Nature, Forest Therapy and The Work that Reconnects to learn how grappling with our Climate & Eco-Grief can lead us into deeper relationship and action in solidarity with earth.

Participants in Finding Refuge: Earth Love and Climate Grief will be invited into gently facilitated practices that process climate grief and discover resources for ongoing support. Participants will use the practices of Relational Nature & Forest Therapy and The Work that Reconnects to engage with the love of Earth and gently express collective grief.
