We offer several workshops per year by registration, and additional workshops for groups by request. For more information about requesting a workshop for your group, see our Facilitation page.

At least twice a year we offer the Work that Reconnects, a one-day introduction to the framework developed by ecophilosopher Joanna Macy. This school of thought combines systems thinking, spirituality, and deep ecology. We adapt this framework to emphasize personal and collective action, while taking Alberta's unique culture into account. These one-day sessions are open for registration by any member of the public.

We also offer the Work That Reconnects for groups by request.

"Refugia's experience in creating and facilitating workshops was very valuable. Amy helped me by bringing Joanna Macy's great frameworks into the workshop mix. She gave me tips on how to plan the day and what to pay attention to while facilitating...The discussion was thoughtful and participants seemed to find it meaningful. There appears to be value in acknowledging, processing and feeling validated in our emotions around the environment.

I feel creating intentional space for the emotions we feel around the environment, such as what Refugia Retreats offers, is something many of us have been longing for."
